UNDERCOAT TREATMENT
KP-12
Adaptable wood protection for industrial applications.
KP-12 is an outstanding penetrating protective undercoat for timbers, dimensional laminated lumber and engineered wood components like CLT that enhances dimensional stability and protects wood from UV degradation and moisture absorption. Using KP-12 dramatically improves topcoat performance, while also protecting wood during the manufacturing and construction process and reducing in situ preparation and top coat application costs. Because KP-12 is imperceptible, it is ideal for projects where beautiful clear or light wood tones are desired.
When used as part of an architectural coating system, KP-12 tinted can be used as the first coat.
KP-12 is aqueous, low-VOC and available in a range of formulas to reduce swelling, wood rot, moisture absorption and protect against UV degradation.
KP-12W: provides enhanced water repellence and excellent hold-out against water absorption that conforms to ASTM 4446. Protects timbers and engineered lumber against wood rot; protects end grain and exposed wood joinery and surfaces that are exposed to weathering and moisture.
KP-12UVW: combines long-term UV protection with enhanced water repellence and excellent hold-out against water absorption for timbers and engineered lumber. Conforms to ASTM 4446. Protects wood against wood rot and weathering during construction.
KP-14+
A vapor permeable barrier coating for wood.
KP-14+ is designed as a 1-coat, moisture protection plan in conjunction with KP-12 for the exposed top sides of CLT panels during construction. This system is unique from other membranes that may entrap water, leading to mold growth, wood rot and decay.
The KP-14+ system aggressively protects wood from water absorption while maintaining vapor permeability of bare wood. KP-14+ can be field or factory applied on CLT panels to prevent weathering and water absorption during installation and construction.
KP-14+ is highly durable, water-borne, and low in VOCs.
Timber-Tec
Industrial-strength wood treatment for in-yard protection.
Timber-Tec protects from UV degradation and repels water (helping your wood dry) but it will also mitigate wood discoloration during the construction process. Timber-Tec can be applied to green as well as seasoned timber, improving dimensional stability and allowing wood to adjust gradually to moisture levels in the environment.
Timber-Tec C-20 is a concentrated clear penetrating wood treatment for logs and timbers that protects from staining and surface discoloration. Ideal for normal construction times of 4-8 weeks.
Timber-Tec M-30 is a concentrated milky penetrating wood treatment for logs and timbers that protects against UV degradation and from staining and surface discoloration. Ideal for longer construction times in areas with high UV exposure.
Timber-Tec T-40 is a ready-to-use milky penetrating wood treatment for logs and timbers that is highly water repellent and protects against staining and surface discoloration. Ideal for normal to long construction times in high-moisture environments.
Exterior Finishes
KP-30
Penetrating finish for exterior wood protection.
Precision Coat KP-30 is specially formulated for factory finishing with oils and resins that penetrate into the wood, providing outstanding weather and UV protection in a wide range of natural, semi-transparent and even solid colors. Thanks to KP-30’s unique water-borne technology, it can provide complete protection in just one coat – although a second coat will provide an even more beautiful and richer finish.
And because KP-30 is designed to be highly water-repellent, it’s a natural choice for homes and structures in moisture-rich environments. Not only does KP-30 protect the outside of your wood, it also protects the inside by allowing the wood to “breathe” which helps prevent moisture from getting trapped in the wood and causing rot.
KP-30 is rated by siding manufacturers as one of the best Naturals finishes available.
KP-32
Enhanced protection offering a satin finish.
Precision Coat KP-32 is highly resistant to wear, doesn’t discolor over time, and enhances the natural UV protection – and beauty – of your existing Sansin KP-30 finish. Because of its high solids content, KP-32 enhances the look of your base coat with beautiful saturated color and a full, rich finish.
KP-40
Penetrating finish for exterior wood protection.
Perfect for cedar, exotic hardwoods, Southern pine, Accoya – whatever your project is made of, Precision Coat KP-40’s deep penetrating solids will protect its beauty and character – even in the most demanding freeze-thaw climates. Like all Precision Coat Finishes, it is environmentally friendly; and by allowing wood to “breathe“ naturally, helps maintain a healthy moisture equilibrium that inhibits decay.
KP-40 is formulated with higher solids and stronger pigmentation to look better and last longer. But since even the toughest wood need to be maintained, KP-40 makes it easy to keep your project looking beautiful with just a simple cleaning and maintenance coat. KP-50
A beautiful premium finish with exceptional adhesion.
Precision Coat KP-50 is self-priming and offers exceptional adhesion to almost any surface, resulting in a satin or gloss finish of exceptional beauty.
KP-50 is highly resistant to wear, doesn’t discolor over time, and provides some of the toughest UV protection available. For even longer maintenance cycles, undercoat Sansin KP-50 with KP-30 or Classic. Whatever your project, the exceptional characteristics of KP-50 – in natural, semi-transparent and solid stains and finishes, as well as solid hide paints – will raise it to a new standard of beauty and durability.

Precision Coat Door & Window is recommended on surfaces using Classic, SDF or KP-12 as the first coat. Puritan Stain
Beautiful penetrating stain for wood interiors.
Specially formulated for factory finishing, Precision Coat Purity Interior Stain will transform your home interior with defined grain and rich, even color.
Many interior coatings contain harsh solvents that release highly toxic fumes – known as VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds – into the air long after application. Purity Interior 0-VOC Stain Base uses nature’s own solvent, water. Application is simple and trouble-free, with no unsightly splatter or brush-marks.
Purity Interior Stain is UV resistant, fast drying, washable and non-flammable with easy soap and water clean-up. For a topcoat, Purity Floor, Glacier or Clear formulas will deliver a beautiful finish.

Purity Glacier provides a tough lacquer finish that meets and exceeds all KCMA benchmarks, holding up to chemical staining and UV degradation.

One coat system that controls moisture movement in wood.

KP-11
A protective aqueous low VOC surface treatment.
Precision Coat KP-11 is a permanent wood treatment for interior surfaces – can be used on wood components and engineered wood components for long term protection against discoloration and stabilization issues due to moisture. Not for use on visible or exposed surfaces. Comes in formulas for in situ and machine application.
KP-11MF is a ready to use clear formula for machine coat application.
KP-33 ES
End Grain Sealer for cut wood.
KP-33ES is engineered for wood where the end grain requires protection from water. KP-33ES offers protection to cut ends on logs, timber, cladding, decking, and CLT. KP-33 provides deep penetrating protection ensuring wood stability, long term protection, whilst reducing warping, shrinking & checking. KP-33ES is breathable, low in VOC’s and offers soap and water clean-up.

Roof-Tec
Two-coat finish that extends the life and beauty of cedar shingle roofs.
Sansin Roof-Tec is highly water repellant and UV-resistant – and unlike most water and solvent-based coatings, Roof-Tec contains no paraffin waxes that can be easily damaged by exposure to UV radiation. Since roofs tend to receive far more sustained sunlight than vertical surfaces, it’s especially important to protect your cedar shake or shingle roof with a coating that can handle rain or sun in equal measure.
Roof-Tec is available in two formulas. Our tinted Roof-Tec is designed to provide a high level of UV protection and is available in a wide range of colors. Or, for the “bleached” look of weathered cedar, choose Roof-Tec CSP – which also offers exceptional water repellence and protection against wood rot, while allowing wood to silver grey quickly and evenly.
WoodForce
High-performance, ultra low-VOC finish for a naturally-weathered look.
This high-performing factory finish provides exceptional protection and won’t break down with exposure to sunlight, retaining its water-repellency and protecting against weathering and wood rot. Because it erodes gently over time, long-term maintenance is easy – the end user can apply a fresh coat of WoodForce, as needed.
Sansin WoodForce reduces water absorption up to 74% during wetting periods. WoodForce is available in clear, gray tones and vintage colors. It will not peel and can be used for a wide range of interiors and exterior factory applications including decks, fences, wood shingles, gazebos, yard furniture and wood siding.
Fire Retardants
Firestop97
Solid color fire protection in one coat
FireStop97 is designed for use as a self-priming paint for wood substrates including SPF plywood, oriented strand board, wood trusses, glue laminated/cross laminated timbers, construction studs and many assemblies where improved fire resistance is required. In the presence of heat or flame, Firestop97 will intumesce (expand its film thickness) creating a thick charred heat-insulating foam layer. This action prevents oxygen from reaching the combustible coated materials (the “fuel”) and diluting combustible gases if released by the fuel.
FireStop97 provides “Class A” flame spread protection that conforms to ASTM E84 and Canadian Standard CAN/ULC S-102-10.
FireStop97 has excellent adhesion and is durable, protection, decorative and low-VOC. It provides excellent workability and flow properties and simple soap and water clean-up. Dries to a white, opaque, low-lustre finish.
Firestop99
Clear wood toned fire protection.
In the presence of heat or flame, Firestop99 will intumesce (expand its film thickness) creating a thick charred heat-insulating foam layer. This action prevents oxygen from reaching the combustible coated materials (the “fuel”) and diluting combustible gases if released by the fuel.

FireStop99 has excellent adhesion and is low-VOC, with two-coat application and simple soap and water clean-up. Available in clear or custom tinted tones.
SDF FR
Class “B” flame protection for interior and exterior non-exposed surfaces.
SDF FR is a fast-drying finish that forms an ignition barrier and reduces flame spread, available in clear or colored tones. Can be used for ceilings, walls and protected soffits. It has excellent adhesion properties and is spray-applied as part of a two-coat system.
Preservation
Boracol
Diffusable long-term decay, insect and mold protection.
Wood is an incredibly strong building material – and if it’s protected properly, it can last practically forever. Designed right, Sansin surface and core wood protection systems offer the best combination of protection and value.
Sansin Boracol is designed both to eradicate and protect against fungi, mold and decay-causing insects. It penetrates wood exceptionally well, even including heartwood, up to 3-5mm deep; and then establishes a reserve from where further penetration takes place (up to 40mm over 2 years in dry wood). Because Boracol diffuses with moisture, it will travel faster into wood with higher moisture content.
Boracol can be used to eradicate wood rot in existing structures, and it can also be used to protect new and existing logs and timbers against fungi and insect attack. Sansin Boracol contains boron which is far less hazardous than traditional treatments and will give your project the lasting protection it needs – with low toxicity.
